They’re probably more Marxist or socialist than they are fascist but no matter what “ist” you choose to ascribe to them, they’re radical leftists who use violence and intimidation for political gain (thats the definition of terrorism btw)BTW. They, along with BLM (also a Marxist organization) are the lefts version of the Nazi “Brown Shirts”, the SA which helped bring Hitler to power through voter intimidation, rioting, violence and targeting Jewish owed businesses. BLMANTIFA serve the same purpose for the Demicratic Socialist party. Semi trained attack dogs who they bring out when needed. They would do well to read what happened to all of the SA members after the organization exceeded its usefulness to the party.
ANTIFA are Communist thugs. Communists hate nationalism — they’re globalists. So naturally they are *anti* Fascist. Of course, when you redefine anyone who loves their country as Fascists, the “enemy” need not actually promote authoritarianism. Which true Fascists desire. “He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.” Basically, if a group claiming to be anti-fascist uses fascist tactics…they are fascist. After all, if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck…
I think the word Fascist is thrown around a little too much. Its not fully interchangeable with authoritarian. Neither side of the aisle is really truly fascist, which is a racially driven ideology. So if anything there are sects on the right that might be this, but mainstream politicians typically distance themselves from this association. That being said, its largely because we look at characteristics of Nazi, Germany and Post-WW1 Italy and see similarities. -Sometimes their protests can be violent and destructive, I don’t see this as much maybe Covid really cooled it down, but I remember watching many vids of them and proud boys fighting it out. -Some of the laws they might advocate for may seem kinda authoritarian. But I think both sides might be guilty of this. The left tends to want to increase government powers, regulations and things of that kind.
